ABC Applauds Michael Hohl
Supporting Open Competition and Free Enterprise. Thank You!
The construction of several Michael Hohl companies in Carson City qualified as redevelopment projects, thus creating funding through a private public parntership.

ABC stands firm that ALL projects that have any portion of public funding MUST have open competition to ensure a level playing field for all participants, as well as protecting the interests of public funds.

The Carpenters Union has been targeting Gore Acoustics and Drywall Systems for years with allegations that have yet to be substainated.  In fact, several ABC General Contractors have sent certified letters to the Carpenters Union requesting proof that Gore Acoustics and Drywall is not a qualified and responsible contractor, as well as supporting the claims that they have not been compliant by committing unlawful violation(s).

To date, there has been no response or proof from the Carpenters Union about any of the contractors they have alleged in many written letters.

ABC would like to applaud and recognize Michael Hohl for upholding the prinicples of creating a fair process to obtain bids for ALL qualified contractors.  Michael Hohl was approached by the Carpenters Union using the same tactics they have used against many contractors, including Gore Acoustics and Drywall Systems.  Carpenters Union threats include telling the owner/developer that if they use Gore Acousitcs they will be bannered or they will be picketed.  Even though the contractor has not done anything wrong.

It appears the idea is to keep Gore Acoustics and Drywall Systems from obtaining any work.  In fact, Ron Kelly has been asked to become signatory.  This is the same Carpenters Union who is accusing the contractor of being unlawful, while they continue to "court" them.

ABC continues to take an educational approach by reaching out to the owners/developers, the General Contractors, and elected officials to let them know the facts.

Carpenters Union tactics did not eliminate Gore Acoustics Drywall Systems from bidding on a Private Public funded Project.  The most responsible and qualified contractor was selected, resulting in both union and non-union awards.  Thank you Michael Hohl.

ABC would also like to thank Tom Metcalf, owner of Metcalf Builders, who is an ABC member contractor and serves on the ABC Board of Directors, for working with Michael Hohl to select the most responsible qualified bidder.  Such a practice disregards any affiliation, whether union or non-union,  in the contract award.

As a result, Justin Ivory, ABC Chair of the Board sent the following letter to Mr. Michael Hohl.

ABC would also like to encourage ALL ABC members and the construction industry to purchase vehicles from Michael Hohl's Family of Automotive Companies.
