All Journeyman and Master Plumbers are required to hold a valid certificate to work in the City of Reno. Beginning May 1, 2009, City of Reno testing site for the Plumber Certificates was changed, with updated processing and cards issued from that site will be good for 3 years.
City of Reno is joining the Nevada Board of Plumbing Examiners (NBOPE), and Clark County, Nevada in partnership with Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC)and the UA Local 350, to improve the professionalism of our industry.

Journeyman and Master Plumber Applicants will submit an application to the NITC office along with Affidavit of Experience. Upon approval, the Applicant will receive an email authorization allowing registration at the local testing center, including instructions, a login and PIN number. You will pay the Test Center fee of $125.00
Applicants may sign up with the testing center and can take the test as scheduled ahead, Tuesday through Saturday. No drop-ins permitted. The exam cost is $125.00, each time. The local test site is located at: ACT, 5270 Neil Road, Reno, Nevada89502. There are more than 230 additional ACT test sites.

All confirmations and testing registration is done by email. If you do not have an email account, please contact your local library, ABC office or Local 350 for individual assistance.
Upon passing the test, applicants will receive a passing notification. After obtaining your NBOPE Card, your card isvalid for 3 years. Renewals of those cards may be done online or by mail with NITC.
Certificates (cards) for Apprentice Plumber will continue to be issued and renewed at City of Reno location on an annual basis.
